Acupuncture is quite an old medicine.  It is now taught at University (practitioners have a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine – Acupuncture & Moxibustion).

During my 16 years as a practitioner here in Australia and around the world I have come to witness the benefits of Acupuncture.  I am still in awe every day.  I have treated a vast array of medical conditions.

During an Acupuncture session we will ask you a lot of questions.  We may be looking closely at your face, taking your pulse, looking at your tongue.  We will also look at how stressed you are…how agitated.  This gives us clues and insights into what is happening inside your body – how happy and content your system actually is.

A patient will often present at the clinic with a certain problem…but then it actually turns out that maybe another symptom is actually connected to this….so then a symptom picture starts to form.  We then look at this picture and can choose acupuncture points to help fix this.

This means that you may see an alleviation or other symptoms or other problems as well as your original problem!

This is called treating a pattern of disharmony.  So an Acupuncturist will be looking at how your body falls out of balance and what pattern that has.

Acupuncture is three thousand years old….According to the world Health organisation Acupuncture can be used to effectively treat over three hundred medical conditions.  The popularity and effectiveness of Acupuncture is evidenced in the fact that this modality is recognised nationally this year with the establishment of the Australian registration board for Chinese Medicine.  This Modality is excellent for anything from Infertility….to back pain…muscle tension…anxiety.  It is 3000 years old…so almost any health condition can be helped by and Acupuncture treatment.
